GeeMail is a desktop application for use with the Gmail service. GeeMail is an Adobe AIR application, which means that it works on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. In short, the application allows you to browse and use your Gmail account from a desktop application. You can do anything, that you would otherwise do on a Web Browser, in GeeMail. It even supports the classic Gmail theme, so you don't have to get used to doing things differently. GeeMail also supports the default hot-keys that you would be able to use on Gmail.
The main advantage of using a desktop application to go into your Gmail account is that it is fast. The application will not share any resources with other websites, since it is designed solely to open Gmail.com. Also, GeeMail features a nice Offline mode, which allows you to read or write e-mails while you are not connected to the Internet. Once your computer finds an Internet connection, the e-mails you composed will be sent and new mail will be downloaded into your mailbox. Also, there is no configuration needed for GeeMail to work. It is a really plug-and-play application. |
